Creating new coexistence Environment

Hello

Can someone give me some advise on setting up a new co-existence environment in OW? I have taken a copy of our world live data at month end into a new world env. I then ran the X3 coexistence PTF and latest update. So at this point I have a World environment ready to co-exist with OW.

Now I think I need to run an installation plan in OW to create any additional OW files. So I renamed the world data library to TESTDTA and changed the AS400 - Control Tables -TEST to point to the World common library. I then ran a installation plan for DEV and I indicated in the plan that it was a co-existence enviroment I was trying to create. The plan recreated any file it could with a OW format table. The world applications will no longer run as the files required are in OW format.

Am I going about this the right way and doing something slightly wrong. Or is there totally different way to achieve what I am trying to do.

Graeme Fraser.

hello,
A consultant who works in pour society gives me this answer for my question
: ("how can OW B732.2 coexist with OW B733.3? , for your problem, try to
create a new port test on your Entreprise server).
After you create the new portest, the 6009 portest is for World and the new
portest (6008 for exemple) is for OneWorld, the two OW versions can coexist
together.

Graeme,
I do not know much about co-existence, in fact I have only theoretical
knowledge, but creating a new environment in OW is a very easy task, no
need to go back to the planner.
Go to menu gh9053/P0094, highlight an environment that is similar to your
new environment (like one that uses the same pathcode) and select "Copy
environment".
OW will create a new entry in the environment master table. Fastpath to
OCM and you will find all OCMs to your new environment, only they are
still pointing to the Business Data, Control Tables, etc of your old
environment. All you need to do is to re-point the mappings to your new
Business Data, Control Tables and whatever else you want different from
the original environment.
You may first have to go to the Database Datasource application (GH9011)
and create the new datasources for your new environment.

Hope this helped, Gerd

Usually, you create a separte data source for Control Tables, because OneWorld will create a data source that points to your World Common files.

If the installation workbench sees that a file already exists, it will not delete it. Therefore, any existing files from World will stay in that format. You should be able to continue using World - that's why it's coexistent - with the exception of things like Enhanced A/R.
