RES: Oracle & package builds

Sean,
I might have a little contribution to your big question:

When the spec files are build for full packages I have once seen OW doing a
simple
"select * from pd7333.f98...".
Before that I think a
"select count from pd7333.f987..." is issued .
This would correspond to the entries in buildlog.txt .
Check out page 4.17 in the Package Management Manual for the relationship of
spec files and Central Objects tables.

Thanks, Gerd

Assunto: Oracle & package builds

This is probably a "tall order" type of request.....
I'm trying to get details about package build steps and Oracle database
table(s) accessed at each stage. If this level of detail exists in the
manuals my apologies and I'd appreciate your patience and pointing out which
manual(s). If not pointers to white paper(s), presentations, or any useful
info source on same would be much appreciated.
Also if there are any Oracle specific tunings which can be made to
facilitate optimal package build process I'd appreciate feedback on that
too!. I had a look at knowledge garden but the nearest papers to it seemed
to be more from application side of the fence.
