Web client (HTML)

We are coming up on the renewal time for our Citrix (1.8a for Win2k)
licenses, and I was asked to come up with a point sheet for/against moving
to the web (HTML) client over Citrix in both cost and functionality. From
what I have heard/seen the web client is pretty slick, but is it ready for
production real-time? Is the web client robust enough to be the only client
for 95% of the users? The primary modules we use are financials (ar/gl/ap),
service billing, and sales order, anyone have experience with those modules
on the web client?
We are currently on Xe (SP19.1) and don't see us moving the ERP8 or any
other version within the next year or more. Lastly, I get mixed responses
from JDE on the use of websphere. I would expect that a websphere server is
required for the web client, is this correct? If so, are there any documents
that discuss the loading/scaling of this?
Sorry for the neophyte questions, but the web client side of this is new to
me, and have worked with JDE enough to know anything new is something to be
afraid of...I'll go lurking in the knowledge garden as well but wanted to
hear 'real world' users perspective.

Regards,
john

We have had pretty good success with the web client. We have the majority of our users utilizing the web client. We are utilziing the JAS methodology. Our web server is Windows 2000. We are on SP18, OneWorld Xe. I would recommend going with the web client. We've had positive response from our users.

I have a stupid question. Is JAS an alternative to Websphere. We are going to start looking into HTML client and I want to start reading the JDE manuals. I'm just not sure which ones to read.
