hi list,

My very first post on this forum even though I have been reading it quite often.

My question is : What do you mean by JDE services? I am not a CNC guy, but every time I hear bring services up or start services I try to imagine what "services" might actually be.

If you can explain it or direct me to some manuals....it would be gr8.

TIA

The services are a set of batch jobs which run continueously on the
Enterprise Server and on the Clients but in normal usuage its the server
side only. They send and recieve data from the Client PCs, run the report
jobs ( UBEs ) and handle general activity like security or scheduling.
Depending on what the big central box is you'll see these jobs are threads
on NT or UNIX, or batch jobs on AS400. These jobs are run by the code that
comes in a Service Pack.
Its nice to include in your email what sorta box you have so we don't have
to ask.

They are programs that run on OneWorld Servers that allow the servers and OneWorld processes to communicate. Check out on the Knowledge Garden at the OneWorld Technical Administration Guide for more information.
