Zero Cost Items

Hello List,

Does anyone have a simple method for handling items in JDE Xe that have a cost of 0? We have several items that we wish to track inventory balances and transactions, yet want a standard cost of zero. These items might be the same G/L class code as other items with a standard cost. I just want the system to recognize the cost of zero and not show them on the Cost Exception reports.

Thanks
Doug

Doug,

The cost exceptions report is there as a management tool. If you have product that is stored at zero cost, use the data selection to exclude these products (or product groups) from the report.

Doug,

If yo havn't already tried this, it might work for you.

Set up items with a Standard Cost of zero. When you receive them, you will expense them via the OPV Standard Cost Variance AAI. You will then be able to track inventory balances with zero cost associated with the items.
