Xerox 301 DP printer configuration.

Hello list,

I am trying to configure a Xerox 301 DP printer on my AS/400. The printer
is a double byte capable printer located in Japan. I can get the printer
to acknowledge receipt of the spool, but it will not print the actual
report, just seems to send it to the bit bucket. We had a similar problem
until we got the RMTPRTQ parameter correct.

Has anyone configured this printer on an AS/400 and if so could you please
share the configuration.

Tom,

Are you using IP for this printer? I have an IBM document # 8983237 for
Creating TCP/IP LPR Remote Writer that has been a great help to us in
setting up our printers. It shows the CRTOUTQ command parameters and the
CRTDEVPRT command parameters that are required.

Hope this helps - by the way, we do NOT have your specific printer
configured on our system.

I just noticed that this document shows only a Xerox DC230 printer, but
says the RMTPRTQ value for that should be 'lp'.
