World Writer download to Excel - date format problem

I wonder if the rest of the world has this problem. When we download reports in World Writer to Excel, some of the records will have date format inconsistency. Excel will somehow change it to a "text" format and we cant use Excel date formulae.

Has anyone found a way around this? Pls share, thanks in advance.

Just a suggestion--have you checked with IBM? Some years ago we were having problems with downloaded amounts that were less than 1. The error was sporadic. We learned that the problem was due to the version of PC Support (Personal Communications iSeries Access for Windows) we were using. Our O/S and workstation s/w are more current now.
