Vertex

Hi List,

I have successfully installed and tested Vertex on the Enterprise server (AS/400). I am trying to integrate it with OneWorld Xe. I have followed all the directions, but do not successfully get a hit when calling P73GEO. I do not get any errors. There is nothing in the debug. JDEdwards has not been able to find the problem. Anyone have any suggestions?? Thanks in advance!

Are your OCM mappings set up for System as well as Server Map?
Do you have Quantum Active = 'Y' in Constants P7306 on menu G731?
Database Connections correct on menu G731?

Yes to all of the above....
Do I need to create a new Database Data source??

What do you see when you go into constants in the G731 menu? I actually
forgot to turn it on once during an upgrade. Also go into about vertex from
the exit bar. In our case it is supposed to say CodeBase and ISAM - not sure
what it should say on the AS400 but if ours is blank and relational then I
normally just bounce OW and it gets going again. Good luck.

Re: RE: Vertex

JDE just got back with me and said there was a problem with Vertex and the AS/400. After making changes to the P7308 Database Connections, I need to bounce Xe. Hopefully this will work. Thanks!

I installed Vertex on XE with NT Enterprise server. Took awhile to get it
working, but it now seems to be working fine.

We did NOT have to create a new database data source. Just make sure it is
pointing to the correct directory. I used the UNC name.....
\\Server\Vertex\DB where we installed vertex. I used the G:\ first and
it didn't seem to work.

We also had to ADD the Path C:\Vertex\DB to the Environment Variable PATH on
the enterprise server. Since you're running AS/400 I'd figure you might
need to add it to or change a library list or something like that.

Re: RE: Vertex

Thanks Wade. If bouncing Xe doesn't work. I'll look into the library list. I had thought of that, but according to the write up, I thought the Database Connection application was suppose to use the library name I specified and point all code to the proper files. Who knows what it really does!

I don't know much about AS400's but for us since Vertex is ISAM based it
uses the DB connection set in the G731 menu. But I notice there is a button
for AS/400 libraries in the exit bar. Not sure what that is for. Sorry. If
you have installed Vertex in a different directory you will need to change
the path in the Quantum Database Connection.

RE: RE: Vertex

We found that the documentation was a little lacking, and had to improvise a
little to get it to work.

RE: RE: Vertex

We had to bounce the enterprise server too. I'm not sure it is necessarily
an AS/400 issue, perhaps more of a Vertex issue and the way systems have to
access it.
