Using Email

We're using JDE Purchasing and electronic requisitioning. We have setup the approval routes for notification of pending req's for approval. Does the system support sending the notice [of pending approvals] to say an Outlook Email mailbox? If so, how do I set that up.
Thanks,

Dan,

I think you would use the who's who off of the address book, (I think it's either F8 or F5), you can put in any email address, the default is usually the company domain.

There is a white paper on the Knowledge Garden that details how to make the
messages work with your company's' email system. I don't remember which
category but I think it's technical.

Dan,

Assuming I'm not missing anything in your note and that you have an internal
network attached to the 400, what you ask is quite simple with some small
code mods. Using Distribution Services you can send email to anyone on the
network. I'm doing it out of an AS/400 hosted web site hooked real time to
JDE order entry to email order acknowledgements to online customers placing
orders.

Call IBM support and have them walk you through how to set it up. Have one
of your network techs there during the call to answer network questions.
Once enabled, a simple SNDDST in a CL called at the proper point in the
whatever process you need will get the email to the addressee.

Hope this helps.

Did you get this resolved and working? I have a custome here in the UK that would like to do a similar thing and any help you can give would be appreciated.
