User Login Inquiry

I don't know about anyone else out there, but I have found this to be flaky
on our end....I have found where SAW would report someone logged on at a
particular machine....only to find that machine is turned off?? ...also
where someone would sign on at a particular machine and SAW would never
report it....

Everyone:

I have found the same with SAW, but I find that I must refresh the view
often. This helps on having a more current view of who is really on. But,
it does sometimes show a user as logged into JDE and they are not.

I have another issue with SAW currently, after we did the upgrade to Xe we
can no longer send a message to a user that is really logged on to JDE.

Even with the prior release, we could only send a message to one user at a
time, but at least I could copy and paste, repeating the message to all
current user. But now with Xe we can no longer to that. Following is the
message I received from JDE Tech. Support.

Hi Joy,

I just wanted to give you an update on call #XXXXXXXX.

These are the notes in the task I have sent to development:
After looking into the issue, it appears that the SAW GUI attempts to send a
message using the NT "net send" facility. This is in UsersView.cpp in the
class CUsersView, method OnUserContact. This method concatenates strings to
create the command line executable to perform the "net send". Looking at the
history of this file, this method changed on 7/6/99 and the "space"
character between two of the concatenated strings was removed (this may be
the problem). Basically, the "space" character was there prior to Xe, but
removed in Xe.

Development is still working on this issue.

I will be out of the office beginning Friday, April 20 and will not be
returning until May 8. In my absence, this call be reassigned to Jamie
Adamson. As soon as he gets an update from development he will update you
on this issue.

If you have any questions, I will be available until end of day Thursday,
April 19. Otherwise, you may contact Jamie.

I have found netmon in system/bin 32 to be quite reliable.
