Hi List,
We ran the R9200100 in CRP and everything went ok so far. The problem is =
that now we see data on SQL as the real quantity * 10000 (We updated to =
4 decimals). If you see the same info in OW it displays just fine. This =
quantity should looks the same in both places, right??? Any clue why? is =
this is "Function as Designed" ?

Thanks=20

The setting 'use decimal shift' on the datasource definition controls this.
Switch it off and the extra zeros will disappear.
The data dictionary definition of the number determines how many zeros will
appear and controls the precision to which the decimal part of a number is
held on systems that store numbers as character strings or BCD (i.e. AS400)

This is indeed "Function as Designed".

Tony, are you saying that there is a way to change the display decimals and
the data as well? This was never available, to my knowledge in OneWorld,
which makes a significant problem if you change display decimals after going
live. World has had this function for many years. Could you clarify your
explanation for us non-technical types?

Thanks!

No. The data as actually recorded would not be affected by changing the data
source or dictionary settings.
e.g. If the value of two has been stored as 2000 because the field was
defined as three display decimals and the data source has decimal shift on
then switching decimal shift off would cause the value to appear as two
thousand next time it was accessed by OneWorld, I believe.
Under what circumstances would you want to change display decimals after
going live?

Shouldn't have to. But sometimes clients don't get this setup until after
there is already some test data in the system. I was just checking to be
sure that there was not any automatic conversion of the data available, as
there is in World.

Thanks.
