Does anybody know how to print displayed items in the table browser?
Sometimes when I am doing an inquiry I would like to have a hard copy of the
display and right now the only way to do this is using cut and paste.

Thank you in advance your answer.

The easiest way for me to do it is using the PrintKey - a shareware print screen utility; try it and forget the Cut and Paste, FOREVER!

Mike,
For the longest time I have been using the Print Scrn button and then pasting into MS word. You may also want to look at www.SNAGIT.com. it is a documentation tool that was mentioned a short while ago in the list. you can get a demo version and the final version is very cheap.

Mike,
I don't know how to do it in UTB but I have two tips to do it otherway.

1.) You can query OW tables from Access through ODBC.
PREREQUISITE:
* You have to have serious rights to do it (e.g. to know the password of the table owner)
ADVANTAGE:
* You can use "Filter by Form" the same way as QBE in OneWorld
* You can make more complex queries (e.g. based on joined tables, complex filtering phrase, etc.)
* You can store your queries in an Access database and re-run again.
* You can store the result in an other Access table, export it into Excel (this two for electronic archive purpose), etc., not only making hardcopy.
DISADVANTEGES:
* You haven't the possibility for "Format Data" as you have in UTB.
* There is a hazard to modify (update/delete/etc.) OW data accidentally through Access.

2.) If you make your queries on the same tables then the most appropriate to create a Business View on the table and a Find/Browse Form (FDA) based on the view.
PREREQUISITE:
* Minimal knowledge to use BSVW and FDA designer tools and Object Librarian (Object Management Workbench in XE).
* You have to have rights to use the tools in OW.
ADVANTAGES:
* You can see Formatted data.
* You can use QBE.
* You can use Sequence on grid.
* You can print the grid directly from OW and have the possibility to set many options.
* You can export the grid with the native functionality of OW to Excel, Word, Lotus 1-2-3, etc. for electronic archives.
* You can make the form more sophisticated with little work using filter fields, Event Rules, etc.
* You can create business views joining tables so you can make more complex queries.
* It is reusable.
* etc.

DISADVANTAGES:
* Not the most proper solution for ad hoc queries (although it takes not more then 10 minutes to create a simple Find/Browse with a BusinessView).

Hope, it helps a bit

get sql navigator! if you have an Oracle DB, it is one of the best "novice"
tools around. you can cut and paste grids like the way you should be able in
the table browser...'

have fun!
