E9.2 UDO Form Extension - adding grid columns to a disabled headerless detailed grid

Hi folks

As part of our 9.0 to 9.2 upgrade I am trying to use UDOs where possible to reduce our customised object list.
I added 2 fields to the grid of P4617 W4617B, AN8 and SHAN, the grid in the this form is disabled, but seen as the form is a headerless detail, when the form renders the 2 UDO GCs are actually enabled.

To me this is a major flaw in UDOs and there doesn't seem to be a way of disabling your newly added UDO. GC..... or is there????
