UDC field returning invalid

Hi friends. Help needed.
I am getting data from one of the udc FIELDs on to my grid column and as soon as i exit the grid column it says invalid.
for example UDC field consists of 3101 after entering the data from UDC field, when grid column exits its giving error as 0000003101 do not exists in UDC field. any suggestions?
by the way UDC field is string and grid cloumn is numeric.
I am on enterprise one 9.1

Hi kumar7519,

What type of field do you are using (ALIAS)? Or it's a DD customize? Do you are using BSFN for get data (X0005)?

Did you check whether it is set as right or left justified?
