Too old?

I am new to JDE E1. Brand new
Was looking to buy myself a book to help train myself and get a better understanding without paying too much money (over 100 bucks).
Is the book below to old to help me? We will soon be version 9.2 and I think we are currently at 8.98
If so anything you guys recommend? I have seen the Oracle docs and do not find them helpful.

That's a great book and still very relevant. The only thing is new stuff will not have been added to that books fundamentals.
Nothing much has changed that's referenced in that book.

Events are still the same (maybe a few new ones) and today we have things like AIS BSSV etc that aren't mentioned in that book. But to start it's great. I still reference it after 13 years

Judging by the title of the thread, I was expecting this to be something along the lines of "I'm 65 and want to learn JDE, am I too old?"
