Table Converter Issues

Hi list,
I've got a table converter which imports a CSV file from the C drive to the
Z files.
I would like to change the 'from' location to a UNC path, however, in std.
jde if you do this you lose ALL your event rules and mappings.
Does anyone know of a way of getting around this problem?
Cheers,
JC

JC,
First thing first I'd copy the TC (something like R55TCPY).
Next, I'd copy the source ER.
Finally, paste the ER into your copy (destination).
Should there be any other little mods, you may update them afterwards.

Hi John,
This issue is a typical recurrent one and answerd more times.
The solution that I remember is that you have to make a shell UBE or APPL where you copy your input file to the fixed name and location and after it you call your TC through report interconnect.
I do not remember the name of the BSFN with which you can delete and copy op-sys files.
Please, look for detailed answers then mine using the Search capability of the Forum. Search for e.g. "flat", "CSV", "file name" and use the and/or feature. I'm sure, you will find the best fit answer for your problem.

ERIC,
If you could find some good answer for this typical issue then would you be so good as to put them onto the Tips & Traps. Thanks.

Hi John,

You can't 'soft code' the input table to table convertors, and yes, if
you change it after adding event rules, you lose the event rules, since
the events are associated with each input table. What you should do is
use the busines function to 'copy/delete a file' to copy your .csv into
a known location from a unc path - the unc path coould even come from a
processing option if you like...

send us a mail John, let us know how the weather in London is!
