SQL Packages and AS/400

We have had problems with applications that we run on the AS/400 using the
RUNUBE command suddenly quit working. Several examples are the Invoice Print
R42565, Sales Update R42800, and Master Planning Schedule - Multiple Plant
R3483. We schedule these jobs to run nightly via the AS/400 job scheduler.
Periodically applications stop working for some unknown reason. I discovered
today that one of the reasons may be the SQL package. I was told by JDE that
these should be deleted periodically. There is a document in the KG
explaining this OTI-99-0072. I am hoping that this does the trick since MRP
stopped working last night. In the past we would check the version out and
back in and submit the version specs to the AS/400, which usually corrects
the problem.

I was just curious if there are others who delete the SQL packages and how
often?

We delete our package in 3 situations:

1. Once a week
2. After major OS/400 upgrades.
3. After majore JDE upgrades (including service packs).

Hope this helps.

I thought there are a couple of SQLPKG that the AS400 need to operate - QIWS/QZAPKG,
QSYS/SQXDPKG and perhaps QSYS/QSQLPKG2?

Robert,

Yes you are right. What I should have said was don't delete any beginning
with Q as these are the IBM ones.

Regards,

Graham.
