SP14.2

Ok, I am (was?) planning on installing SP14.2 tonight. I am aware that
SP14.2 has some issues and have downloaded the appropriate ESU's and
one-off's for the SP. I then received this from JDE:

Hi John,
At this time, I would not recommend SP 14.2 due to the number of issues that
have arisen with it. SP 15 is being released on Monday the 19th. If you
are not experiencing any issues that are specifically fixed by a service
pack, JD Edwards recommends that you do not install them. If you decide to
go ahead with installing any service pack, they can be ordered through your
client manager

Did anyone out there install SP14.2 (and the one-offs/esu's)? Are there
still issues with it? We are in a bit of a bind in that we cannot proceed
with our security project because of an issue that would be resolved with
SP14.2. I don't know if waiting for SP15 is worth it, for you are
introducing another SP which could have issues of it's own to be ironed out
(if it is even released on the 19th as promised).
Any thoughts? I only have a few hours to decide whether to roll forward to
wait. We are coming to the end of month/end of quarter and risk is a big
word right now...

One good thing about service packs, they are relatively easy to back out if
they don't work.

You're correct in that SP15 may have its own set of 'opportunities' to iron
out, especially if you get it the day it is released.

good luck!!

We are also getting confusing advice from JDE on this subject. Our primary
reason for going to SP14.2 is due to problems with our HTML generations on
applications that work fine in fat and JAVA.

We were told today that there are 2 SP14.2 CDs that need to be ordered one
for OneWorld and the other for the JAS server. (Enterprise-Unix;JAS-NT)

In addition the min requirements of WebSphere 3.0.2 should now be WebSphere
3.5

Sean, I understand that you have installed a NT-JAS server using
Websphere 3.0.2. I was wondering if I might be able to peg your mind
off line about how to get Websphere installed. Every time we install
Websphere, it won't install the services into NT. The installation
seems to go without a hitch, however, in the registry where services are
listed, the Websphere services is present without any contents or
subkeys and does not appear in the services list.

Thanks,
