Hi,
I am trying to start allocating New sets of Next Numbers for an existing Sales Order Doc Type:
1 - Went into Sales Management Next Numbers and Added seventh line with My Doc Type and reset Number to 1, and
2 - Went into P40204 Order Activity Rules and tried to change the ORNN Order Type Next Number to 7 (from 1), and

the bloody thing wont save! I can't change it from 1 to 7.

Can you help me, please?

Adrian,

As long as you have active orders for the order type you want to change, the activity rules will not allow changes to the setting. The only change you need to make is the beginning number for the existing document type in NN. The system will start using that new NN when you begin entry again.

Re: re: SO Next Number Setup

Mike,
Our PowerUser clicked the "Find" button, AFTER she changed the ORNN and IT was saved!
Now, when creating this type of document, the NN starts with our #1.
As a matter of facts we were playing with it in DEV & CRP; did not the PROD mod, as of yet.
Now I understand we'll have to Post & Print ALL the (active) orders in PROD, before doing the switch to the new Next Numbers, am I right? :)
Thanks,

re[3]: SO Next Number Setup

Adrian,

I just tried this in Xe Standalone and you can change the document reference field when there are active orders. As it has worked in your prototype environments, you will probably be OK in production.
