Slow login to OW

List Users,

After rebooting the workstations our first login to OW take
between 80 and 90 seconds. Logging in and out after the initial login is
instant so I'm assuming that some there is data cached client side. Does
anybody know why or how to speed up the first login of the day.

Thanks in Advance

We are also getting this problem. This problem only seems to appear for us on Win2k SP1 pro workstations. Our Win2k SP1 Citrix servers don't show this problem. It went away when we applied sp 13.1 but we had to take the service pack back out for other problems it created and the problem reappeared. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know as well. Denver has been unable to help.
Thanks,

I am not sure if this is relevant or not. I had an issue a while back with
an application taking a minute to two starting up. I eventually tracked it
down to the Novell client and upgraded it to fix the problem. BTW it was NT
workstations.

PS. Sebastian, do you know of any good SQL performance monitoring products?
I am looking for something that deals with overall database performance
rather than SQL statement analysis as I am not a developer.

Thanks,

Crawford

I had to same problem on all of my W2K Professional clients. I changed
the entry for my Security server on my jde.ini file from the host name
to the ip address of my security server and it seemed to work just fine.

Paul,

If your client workstations happen to be WIN2000 and you are using
SP11.2 - 11.3, there is a known problem with the JDENET.DLL on this
configuration. If you change the netTrace tag in the client JDE.INI from
netTrace=0 to netTrace=1, this fixes the issue. Or you can go to a higher
SP, which resolves the problem also.

Hope this helps,

andy

Jeff,

When using W2K on the workstation, you should change the NETTRACE=0 to
NETTRACE=1 to correct the problem.

Thank you to everyone who responded to this. The nettrace change works. I would like to know why Denver was unable to come up with this for over 6 months.
Thanks for your assistance.
