We use Lot Control in our factories to track which Slit Coils (by Lot Number) were used to make each particular WO of our finished product (Steel Tube). Our orders will call for hundreds of Slit Coils, so we don't want to have them all displayed on the WOrk Order Parts List. However, we can find no option for this. Our COmmitment Method in Manufacturing Constants is: Split-don't CRoss Branch Boundaries, Soft, Hard when Printing. We need this for the rest of the items in the same branch plant. However, this means we get one line on the Parts List per Lot Number. We will rarely issue the exact lots allocated to the Parts List by the Location with Most Quantity due to physical storage and movement constraints. THe problems having multiplelines on the parts list cause are: 1) WOrk ORder documents are many pages long due to the ridiculously long parts list, 2) Issuing the Manterial to the WOrk Orders is a pain as we have to change the lines on the parts list to match the actual Lot Number Slit COil delivered. What we would like is to know if there is a way to have only one line on the parts list, without changing the Manufacturing COnstants for COmmitment COntrol as we need these settings for WMS to operate.
