The values entered (or brought in by preferences) in the following fields must be equal to that of the corresponding field of the current shipment in cache -OR- either the entered field or the corresponding field of the shipment in the cache must be blank: MOT Carrier Carrier1 Carrier2 Carrier3 Carrier Preference Include/Exclude flag Bulk/Packed Flag Freight Handling Code Rate Schedule Line Level Delivery Route Selection Type Freight Summary Distance Distance UOM Currency Code The following entered dates must be equal to that of the corresponding date for the current shipment in cache -OR- either the entered date or the corresponding date for the shipment in cache must be blank: Promised Ship Date Promised Delivery Date Requested Delivery Date

In my experience with our current TM setup, things like Carrier and FH will only assign a new Shipment # if you make the change through Work With Sales Order Detail. If you make the change through Work With Shipments the Shipment # does not change.
