Setting the COLUMN tab sequence within a grid?

OK, this is the first time I've been asked to do this.

The desire is to set tabbing, WITHIN THE GRID, so the tab goes from
column A, to column Z, to column M, to column B, to column Y, to column N, to column C, ...

My response was to:
Rearrange the columns in the sequence desired,
and/or, create a grid override with the columns in the sequence desired.

Neither was what the user wanted (to hear).
(My other responses weren't very welcomed either.)

I've researched this here, but didn't find anything,
I have NOT googled, or hit MOS regarding this.

Is this doable?

1. Nope.
2. You have a crazy user. Sounds like the lady here who couldn't understand why her brilliant concept of using the Recycle bin for long term document storage wasn't a good idea.

Larry, Are you trying to share that my practices are fallible? I usually store my water in the desert sand....
