I'm being told by Oracle that this is "working as designed" but want to run it by the list for ideas.
We have used the Trade Discount field on the Sales Order in order to discount parts for some time now. What we didn't realize is that for parts we had been discounting in the past, they were not parts that were being "marked up" via Price Rules so the Trade Discount was working just fine. But... we do have lots of parts that we have mark up rules on and we went to use the Trade Discount on them and did not like the results. Let me setup an example.
Part A has a sell price (in the F4106) of $5 and when it is sold on a Sales Order normally, it has a rule that marks it up by 1.13 so the sell price becomes $5.65. Now we decide that we want to give the order a 10% discount (via Trade Discount) and the part comes in as wanting us to sell it for $4.50. This is 10% off the $5, not the $5.65 that we were expecting.
I'm told that "this is how it works". So how can I discount an Order by 10% when I have markup rules? We don't have Advanced Pricing if that is of any consequence. Ideas? Solutions? I don't agree with JDE on this one.
