RES: Java Generation

Do your two environments have different pathcodes? If so, are both pathcodes
installed on your generation machine?

Thanks, Gerd

Assunto: Java Generation

We've created two custom environments JPY7333 and JINT7333. Both are WAN
Configured, and when we start our Java generator we can log into both
JPY7333 or JINT7333. When we are in JPY7333, we can then select Direct
Generation and then move on to the generation process, if we are in
JINT7333, when we click on continue, we get an error dialog stating
"Please choose a valid environment" and the list of environments does
include JPY7333, but not JINT7333. We've checked OCM's, the JAS.INI,
machine definitions, everything appears to be set up exactly as it is for
JPY7333.
Two questions....A) If you've seen this before, what did you do to fix
it, or B) Does anyone know where the generator gets it's list of valid
environments...it's not the environment master, because there are entries
for both JPY and JINT.

Gerd...

Yes...and yes. Two different path codes and both are installed on the
generation machine. The thing is, I can log into the problem environment
on the fat client, and when I run the generator, we get no problems with
the initial OneWorld login, it's when we try to connect that we get the
"Please select a valid environment message". I've ensured that the
environment is set up (and WAN Configured) in both system and planner
areas...if I could just determine where generator is trying to find valid
environments...because it's not where OneWorld is doing it.

Thanks for the input.

Michael,

We've hardcoded that parameter, and left it blank, as RL suggests. The
default is to leave it blank so that all path codes are supported
(according to RL and the documentation). But just to be sure, we hard
coded it with all, then only with the problematic path code...neither
worked.

Oh, and yes, between every change we bounce the WS and IBM HTTP servers.

Still chokes when we attempt to get past the direct vs. java server
dialog.

Thanks for the input.

Gerd...

This was one of those magical fixes...what we did was to build and deploy
a full package to the generation machine in the affected path and then
re-booted the machine.

It worked like a charm...
