Recurring Journal Entries

Our Finance Department has several new Managers who insist there must be a
way to set up recurring journal entries that have either a number of periods
to post or a start and stop date. They believe that a "model" journal entry
can't possibly be all there is.

I've researched model journal entries and the existing Staff uses them
extensively so they are familiar with them.

Have I missed something?

You can't do that with a Model JE, but maybe they could use a Cost
Allocation.

Janelle,

The nearest I can see is via allocation journals - Cost Allocations to be
specific. Just make sure you read up the JDE reference guides about how to
set them up and especially test the use of the stop date. From memory (it
has been a long while) the stop date is not quite what you expect and can
lead to one more journal being created than the user wants - but then I
could be wrong 'coz like I said it has been a very long time since I played
with Cost Allocations
