I've done this successfully by creating a placeholder object on the target
system via omw with the same name, then creating a custom pathcode on the
target system with a DB Data Source pointing to the Central Objects of the
source system. You then do an advanced get from the custom pathcode to
overwrite the placeholder object with the actual code then do a check-in to
push it up to DV or wherever.
This won't likely work if your source release is older than B733.1 and your
target is newer than that.
