RE: Sale to future

Not sure exactly what you are asking Pablo. But reading between the lines,
are you asking if JDE can handle booking revenue and a/r at the time of
sale, but not print the invoice until later?

If so, the answer is yes. Its called Cycle Billing, a batch program that
reads the Invoice Cycle Preference for the customer, calculates a future
scheduled invoice date, and books entries to the G/L. It does not update
the A/R ledger, however. Every night we run invoice print looking for
orders with a scheduled invoice date < or = *today. The order gets invoiced
at the right time, and the entries to the G/L made in cycle billing are
reversed out, and new G/L entries are written by sales update.

This functionality is often used when the customer does not want an invoice
with every shipment, but instead wants invoices on a periodic cycle such as
weekly or monthly.

If this is not the subject of your question, please try to say it another
way and I'll try to answer it.

Okay, so you want to ship confirm after you run invoice print and sales
update? Maybe you shouldn't ship confirm at all, and see if the customer
pays anyway! (Just kidding!)

I think you should be able to do it. Just set the processing option in
Sales Update to not purge the F4211s to the history file. How about if you
test it and tell us if it works. Be sure to check the item ledger after you
do this--its possible the record will be written by Sales Update, not ship
confirm, and have the wrong ship date.

RE: Sale to future

As far as I know Sales Update will do ship confirm, if not processed up to
the moment. Therefore, one cannot do Sales Update in final mode and process
Ship Confirm later.
