You likely won't be able to turn off journalling on these files in that the
application uses the journals to perform transaction integrity initiated from
the JDE application. If the journals weren't available (e.g. if you deleted
the OWJRNL library) the applications would likely hand and/or throw errors
because they couldn't execute the "begin transaction" statement.

You could improve the journalling performance by moving the journal receivers
onto another set of disks strictly devoted to handling the journals. Since
jounalling is write intensive, straight mirroring would increase performance
vs. striped parity. But in some OS versions I think there is a limitation
with journalling files on one ASP with a journal and/or a receiver located on
another. Check with IBM and JDE if you consider this option.
