Re: Grades

Hi Tom,
Yes.
The client has result in different grades after items
work thru the sintering process. And all the grades
has the same item number in the system.

Re: Grades

Okay, to use Grade control the items must be lot controlled. With the item
lot controlled, you can setup a Grade scale (A, B, C, D - or 1, 2, 3, 4
etc.). Then this is basically attached in the Grade control process as an
extension of the lot.

So...

You would have Lot #00124 Grade A
Lot # 00124 Grade B
Lot #00124 Grade C

and each item is uniquely tracked in the system - under the same item
number.

Let me know if you need any more info. The JDE Documentation is pretty good
about this area, so read the section on Grade and Potency control.

Good luck,

Re: Grades

Hi Tom,
Thanks for the information.
However, just follow your example if the SO needs
5,000 pcs of item with grade A, and I have no grade A
on hand but bunch of grade B and C.
I may get no WO recommandation if the MPS generated by
item number but in fact I do need the new WO to
produce the item with grade A.
What I try to solve is to let the MPS generates the
useful recommandations without creating more item
numbers.
Any suggestions ?
