RE: General Method i Check-In

I had this problem recently and it was because I was out of local drive
space. I think I have also seen it in XE when the project status is
incorrect (but I can't tell you how it was incorrect - we leave that to the
CNC jockeys).

RE: General Method i Check-In

Copy your object, then you can save it.
You may need to reinstall OneWorld.

I had this exact error recently (yesterday). It transpired that the share on the deployment server for the specs was set to read only thus not allowing check in. Check this with your CNC / network people. The error message is not so clear is it! If you try to find the error in the business function again it is not clear where it comes from. Check your logging to see what the problem is, this will give you a pointer in the right direction.

Regards,

Adrian.

RE: General Method i Check-In

Hi Chandu,
Yes I tried Logging out and and coming back in.
Yes I have a developers roles and can check All object
in .I tried isolating other objects. This problem is
only with Custom Applications Check-in.

Logging is not giving much help.
If you have any other thoughts please let me know.
Thanks
Nimisha

RE: General Method i Check-In

Hi Shane,
Thanks for replying
1)I have created object in DV and trying to Check-In
and I am logged on to DV.

2)It desn't look like a project status issue as my
project is at 21 status(programming). And as i am in DV
I should be able to do Check-In in DV(DEV).

3)Yes being a developer I have my allowed action set
up to check-in any object.

I tried to look through jdedebug.log and jde logging
system it doesn't help much.
If you want me to check something else plese let me
know.

Thanks
Nimisha

RE: General Method i Check-In

Nimisha,

Could you attach your OMW custom application object log for the checkin. Hopefully that might give an idea to someone.

Re: General Method i Check-In

I think I might be able to help. First, are you running on a AS/400? Go =
into OMW and select logging for the App you are trying to check in. Look =
at the log detail on the check in record. Then check the detailed =
information for the before and after record counts. Do they match? If they =
don't, I might have a solution for you. Let me know. =20

Hello Everybody!

Has anybody face an error like
"General Method in Check-In" while attempting to
check-in a custom application.

Is there a work around to this?
Please help me...

Re: General Method in Check-In

Nimisha,

I am keeping an eye on your problem and see that it isn't resolved yet, so allow me a maybe silly hint.
Open the APPL with FDA again, make a dummy change and save. Try to Chek-In again.
(... maybe you have already tried it.)

Great luck,

Re: General Method in Check-In

Hi Nimisha again,

Am I remember well that:
1.) You checked the Status Code, Activity Rules and Allowed Actions and User Role?
2.) You are one DV environment?
3.) You can Check-In any other object type and original APPLs, just can not the custom APPL.
Please, correct and/or extend me if I missed something.

Here are some further silly questions/hints:

1.) Have you shut down the servers and restarted them, the services (including security) and OnWorld?
2.) Have you cheked the Table Spaces and etc. (I can not list them because I am not a DB or CNC admin, just a developer)?
3.) Have you tried with other custom APPL too? What was the result?
4.) Have you tried logging with a user who have full rights/permissions as well on the OpSys and OneWorld?
5.) Have you tried as PVC Administrator?
6.) Have you tried on other workstation? (Are you on a fat client at all?)
8.) Have you revised OCM mappings?
9.) Have you revised databse securities?

Some further language issue:

A.) Do you use other language then Blank (Domestic) in OneWorld?
B.) Have you developed the APPL signed on with different language than Blank (Domestic)?
C.) Have you tried the Check-In signed on with different language than Blank (Domestic)?

If the answer is Yes for B or C then please, try the whole procedure again signing on with a user whose Language Preference is BLANK in her/his OneWorld User Profile.

Please, answer or update the thread. Thanks.

Great, Great LUCK,

Zoltán

Re: General Method in Check-In

Yes Zoltan
You are correct I have Already checked numbers1,2,3-they look good
from my CNC knowledge.

1)Not tried-server restart
2)My Oracle person says they look good

Before I got this message I had done some experiments.

3)Yes i created a new project with new application in it and I
was able to check it in with JDE -JDE(User and Password)
Then I tried modifying it and checked in and out several times.

4)Yes tried logging as a person with all right (Anyway I have all
rights but tried logging as Administrator.Worked fine.

5)Yes Even begin as PVC Admin. Does not help in that project.

6)Yes Its a fat client I tried on other m/c and it doesn't work there.
(On that project)

7)No Didn't do any OCM mapping revisions

8)No problem with database security

NO Language problems/issues.

It looks like its something to do with this project.
My previous projects and the very new one made for this testing works OK.

In case of no remedy i am planning to start this project all again.
Yes will have to do it for a week or so.

Lets see.
Keep shooting your ideas on this.
Thanks,
Nimisha

Re: General Method in Check-In

Hi Nimisha again,

Thanks for the update.
You have answered:
======================================================================
4)Yes tried logging as a person with all right (Anyway I have all
rights but tried logging as Administrator.Worked fine.
======================================================================
Does it mean that it worked fine with the incriminated APPL and project???

At last an other, presumably also useless hint:
Have you tried to move your APPL to an other project and Check-In from there?

Good bye for today, (local time 11:10 PM)

Re: General Method in Check-In

Hi Nimisha,

Did u by any chance move this object from another project by dragging the
object from the project? If yes then it creates the problem since the token
is with the old project and does not move with the object.

Sunil

Re: General Method in Check-In

No I didn't drag and drop this from another project.
It was created under the same project.

Now i am trying to work with Administrator login using JDE as a user
and trying to develope a different project, things are working well
so far .If everyt thing works then we should be able to narrow it down to security server issue.

Thanks,
Nimisha

Re: General Method in Check-In

Hi! Everybody

This problem has been resolved.

As I started the project all over it helped alot in narrowing the problem.Error log in jde.log said " Error - ORA-01654: unable to extend index DV7333.F98750_PK by 62 in tablespace DV7333I".

This is a tablespace which stores all Indices (forall tables).
It was full as we ran cross-reference facility. Which grew data in tables f980011 and f980021,DV7333I grew proportionally.

We(Oracle person) did clean up on Tables and Tablespace and every thing works perfectly.

Thanks to all of you for begin with me for sailing through this.
