RE: Freezing activity on Cycle Counts
When you do a cycle count you need to run the select items for cycle count
program. This freezes and makes a copy of the balance of these items in a
count file to compare your count against. As in any inventory procedure you
need to be sure you have the proper procedures in place to monitor any
transactions that occur prior to the counting and after until your
reconciliation is complete. Usually the counting is done at a time when
there will be no physical movement of the items whenever possible.
