RE: Adding a company.

It seems awkward to me to have to use BU security for each Company, as there
could be hundreds of BU's in each company. I recently had to do this
excerise for a small new company we acquired. I needed to allow the
accountants at the newly acquired company access to ONLY their company's
BU's. And if there are new BU's added, you must remember to add them to the
security. We seem to add new BU's all of the time. I was sure hoping to find
Company Level security somewhere. Does anyone else find this awkward, or am
I doing it wrong?
Thanks!

RE: Adding a company.

Deanna,

We use a separate range of BUs for each company - and we make those
ranges fairly big. We also leave space between the ranges. For example,
company 1 may use BU 1000-2999, company 2 uses 5000-6999, company 3 uses
12001-13999, company 4 uses 200001-290999, and so on. Then we set up the
BU security by the entire BU range reserved for that company. That way
when a new BU is added, it should already be included in the BU
security.

Just thought I'd share.

RE: Adding a company.

Are you using it at the user profile level or are you assigning individuals
to groups and then assigning the BU security to there. Sometimes too you
can use Business Unit ranges that would cover your additional BUs.
