Hello list

I am in a jam. Can any body instruct me on the exact steps needed to populate a flat file before conversion into the
Z-Table (f06116z1).

The information I need is already in an access table but with desimilar data types. All helps will be appreciated. You may
respond to me directly.

Thanks in advance.

Jude

Re: 1WorldXE - Interface/Time Entry

Ajay.
The situation is that I am trying to write an interface b/w Time Collection
system whose database is not compatible
with 1world.
I have succeed in extracting the records to an access database.
All I need to populate to f06116z1 through a flat file conversion (R47002c)
are the total hours, empnum, cost center, ...... .
On successful writes, start the Z-input batch to f06116 and create time
cards.
I cannot seem to get these to happen for me. How do you get records to flat
files? I am going nuts!

Would appreciate all your help if time permits.
Jude

RE: 1WorldXE - Interface/Time Entry

Have you tried doing a table conversion directly from the Access database?

Re: 1WorldXE - Interface/Time Entry

Yes, I have. It is giving me a nine page filled with errors. I am doing this
on demo junior.
I hope this is not part of my problem. I may need detailed instructions.

Re: 1WorldXE - Interface/Time Entry

Jude,
In order to have the Table Conversion work, there are a few initial mandatory steps, such as:
1-Create the ODBC & OneWorld datasources
2-Create a OW Environment (used for Input Environment, to be able to select your foreign/Access table from)
Have you created'em?
In order for you to get detailed instructions, please provide detailed symptoms; did you try to zip and attach your nine pages/logs?
You will have your TC working, if not this week, definitely the next one, trust the JDEList!

RE: 1WorldXE - Interface/Time Entry

This error is not a problem because OW try to found this table in the
foreign database but this table isn't used. Do you have another errors in
your log ? If not, try to execute your batch with logs.

Re: 1WorldXE - Interface/Time Entry

Hey Jude,
I'd like you to consider one of the two options that could make our life just a little easier:
1 - Use the Forum; the attachment are allowed there. As Eric spelled it out, the JDEList is not (yet) able to handle attachments.
2 - If you can't use the Forum, try to change your Outlook's MIME format to UUENCODE (not very sure about it, Dave (got_to _love_jde) had a thread "I don't like MIME mesages" and offered a solution for it, too).
Now, I had similar problems and I remember these hints:
a) The new environment has been created as a copy of the DEVB732 env.
b) The last step in configuring the TC was the OCM Default map (guess you've done it).
c) I FORGOT to check the "Write record" check-box :) I hope you won't!
Look into the FORUM's archives; topics such as Table Conversion, Foreign Table ...
Good luck now,
