RDA 14.1 - Documentation on New Options

We have just moved from SP 11.1 to 14.1

Does anyone have any documentation on the changes in the RDA (Report Design Aid Tool) since 11.1?

I have noticed several new features and would like to know how to leverage them for report and batch program development.

On JDE Knowledge Garden, the best I could find was a SAR listing.

Any insights are welcomed and appreciated.
THANKS!

Hi Joe,

Unfortunately, I don't have a documentation on the changes.
But I can give you a couple of things that I noticed:

- There is a new group of variable in SP14: the PC's for Previous
Column. These variables are the same as the BC's (Business View Column)
except that they give you the previous record processed. This is very
usefull in a Level Break Footer if you want to do some edit (e.g.
display A Business Unit cat. Code on the LBF on MCU, then you don't need
to "cache" before the LBF. BC MCU will give you the new Business Unit
Number whereas PC MCU will give you the MCU on which the break occured)

- I noticed also the ability to change the scope of a variable (e.g.
from 'event' to report' which was not possible in earlier versions
(maybe it was in SP11 though, I'm not too sure)

Well, that's what I can tell you for now

Hope this helps

Philippe

Joe,

You will find documentation on change from B733.1 to Xe in the manual : "Net Change for Technical Xe" in the "Guides Online - OneWorld Xe" section on the Knowledge Garden.

Re: RE: RDA 14.1 - Documentation on New Options

Further information:

Going from B733.2 SP 11.1 to B733.2 SP 14.1

Not sure if the Xe technical information applies as we have not
implemented Xe (unless RDA at SP level 14.1 is the Xe version)

THANKS for the great responses thus far!

Joe,

I did the comparison (Xe and 733.1 SP14.1) and in RDA it's the same for every point that I tested.
