R3483 - Requirements Planning Issue going from 8.12 to 9.0

We are in the process of upgrading from 8.12 to 9.0. In testing our Requirements Planning process we did a data migration over a weekend utilizing the data from the close of business on a Friday and then ran the Requirements Planning process in 9.0 to compare with our production environment results in 8.12.

The results were slightly similar, but we are missing several messages.

A bit of background on our set up. We are a manufacturing/wholesale business. We have a branch plant where the WOs are processed to produce the finished good, in this BP the item has a Stocking Type of M - Manufactured. Once the WO is complete the WO is complete into another Branch Plant where the items are now Finished with a Stocking Type of 'S' - Purchased. Then the product is distributed amoungst our 12 distribution centers that are each set up as their own Branch Plants. The item Stocking type in these branches is also ans 'S' - Purchased Product.

The R3483 produced thousands of A Message Types indicating that the BOM are not set in each of the branches and the regular 'O' Message Types were not the same as produced in our 8.12 environment. The result was too few messages.

We have checked all of our set up between the 2 environments and both are the same (ie. Item Branch set up, Branch Plant Relationships, Supply & Demand inclusion rules, Forecast, etc)

Is anyone aware of a similar issue? Did the new Kit functionality create some changes? Any help that you can give to a direction that we can take to fix this would be greatly appreciated

Hi,

I did not worked with Stock type - 'S' and Version9 . But , Did you ever checked UDC 41/I ? You can find S = Stock end item ( Desc 2 - 'M') .
