Purchase Orders / 3rd Parties

We have been using JDEdwards requisitions and purchase orders
successfully for many years. Now management wants to start
partnering with an organization named Forest Express for the
purchasing of paper products. The use a web-based system
to pass information about availability, confirmation, and
delivery. However, it is not according to EDI standards.

Does anyone have any experiences they could share with similar
third-parties Commerce One or Ariba as far as purchase orders
are concerned? I was wondering how JDEdwards status code
updating might be handled if an outside source is used for
the actual source transactions if they are not EDI-standard
compliant.

Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I don't know what translater package you are using to map the data to your files. Most packages today offer solutions for mapping custom files to your files. You could map their files to the existing JDE files and utilize the JDE software for the rest.
Hope this helps you.
