I am working in OMW using Xe. I have created a report and then preview it. The system brings up the preview I then want to print the report on my locally attached printer.

I select the print Icon and I only have one selection for printers. I select it and the report prints somewhere but not on my local printer. I can see it in the print spool and then it goes away as if it had printed.

What do I need to change to get it to allow me to select my local printer to print?

There are two things you can check.
First, if you are using terminal server, make sure that the option to map
all client printers is set to on. This is in the setup of the connection
configuration (it is the top icon in the metagrame toolbar). Second are you
trying to just do a row/print from the submitted jobs screen? If so, you
will only be able to print to the printers that have been setup in OneWorld.
If you select to view the pdf (row/view pdf), you will then be able to
print to all printers that you have connected to the machine. This is how I
have kept from having many printers setup in OneWorld. I have users view the
pdf first, and then select the printer they want to print to..I hope I
articulated this well enough. (holiday party last night)..drop me a note if
you would like further (clearer?) explanation.

can you print from MS Word or notepad to this printer?
If no, call network administrator
is the preview in Adobe Acrobat?
Yes - print within Adobe
No - continue asking idiots like me for more help and provide more info

P.S. Would be really nice if we could attach screen snaphots to these posts ... Ok Santa? You listening? :)

Yes I can print to this printer from other MS applications.

Yes the Preview is in Adobe.

Yes I am trying to print from the Adobe preiview.

I have Adobe on my PC and use it to view the documentation for JDE and have printed from this Adobe session many times.

I just can not print from the Adobe using the preview.

How about John Gersic's suggestions ...

Are you on a terminal server / WAN?

We really need more info here. What version of Acrobat are you running (s/b at least 3.1 - preferably 4.05b or higher).

When you look at the printers defined in windows that you can print to, how many are there?

Lastly, you should repost the question (with all details and environment info) to the main OneWorld/XE list since thats where all the administrators hang out.

(This is for B73.3.2 maybe it works for XE) Check OCM for UBE Default, if
MACHINE NAME is not active make its status to active.
