Performance - OneWorld UBE\'s vs World batch jobs

Relatively new co-existent environment experiencing DREADFUL performance on many batch jobs in OneWorld.

Latest example: A/P "As-of" File Generation
World CL/RPG Program: J04901/P04901
OneWorld UBE: R04901
World version runtime: approx 15 minutes
OneWorld version: 7+ hours and still going (after adding data selection to include only items with G/L date 2001 and after).

We are experiencing similar "performance" on countless other jobs. Now I'm just a humble programmer/developer, not an "under-the-hood" techie guy but this can't possibly be the way stuff should work. So, I would be grateful for any input/suggestions/possible cures/(dynamite) from the assembled multitude. The natives are getting restless (think torches, pitchforks, pointy sticks ....)! Thanks in advance.

Re: Performance - OneWorld UBE\'s vs World batch jobs

Well, since the original posting I have found a solution to the R04901 performance issue. Seems the problem was acknowledged, a SAR created, and a new version of the program written (R04901A) - in 2002! Official solution to performance problems with R04901 is: use R04901A. OK, so why does the "as-shipped" menu reference R04901?
