PDF printing on AS/400

We have several large reports in OneWorld (1000+ pages) that we would like to print on our AS/400 high speed printers. Since the printers are only available on the AS/400 the large PDFs need to be generated on our AS/400 to print. I've defined a default printer in OneWorld for these reports to an AS/400 output queue. My definition is for a line printer with EBCDIC encoding. My line printer settings are as follows:

Characters per inch: 15
Lines per page: 88
Columns per page: 128
Lines per inch: 8

I get the reports to generate on the AS/400 in the correct output queue, but they always print in portrait mode. When I view the spool file, it looks correct, but will not print correctly.

Is anyone else doing this and if so how did you do it? Any other suggestions?

Ok, must be nice to have been able to do that. What kind of printers are
you using? I have been unable to get readable text off a 4230 and a 6400,
straight from the '400. Can you shed some light on me on how you
accomplished this? I would greatly appreciate it.

Re: RE: PDF printing on AS/400

Jeremey,

Are you able to view the spool file once it's on the AS/400? If so, it should be able to print. You should be able follow the steps below to get this to work:
1. Create the outq on the 400
2. Add the printer or output queue to OneWorld (see below)
3. Define a default printer for this report in OneWorld
4. Run the report and set it to print-immediate
5. The spool file should be generated on the AS/400

Use the following steps to create the printer in OneWorld:
1. In the "Add Printer" wizard, select AS400 for platform type
2. Enter the library and output queue name
3. For printer model, type Lineprinter
4. For printer location, type OUTQ
5. Click on the details tab
6. Slect "Line Printer" and "EBCDIC Encoding"
7. Fill in you page definition (LPI, CPI, ...)
8. Hit the "End" button and your done.

Let me know if you need any more information.

No, I have never tried it, nor would I know how to do it. Let me know if you find a way.

After we applied ESU 11180, our reports on AS/400 is being printed in a portrait mode instead of landscape. Does anyone know where this is being control from? Denver insists that its the foundation code, but we have not change our SP.

We are on V4R5. Thanks.
