Package build performance

We have following configuration :

Enterprise Server - AS400 V5R2
Deployment Server - Windows 2000 SP3 (dual Xeon processor, 2.5 GB)
Application Server - Windows 2000 SP3 (dual Xeon processor, 2.5 GB)
ERP 8.0 Update 1
SP22 E1

Full client package takes about 3 hours, AS400 build takes about 8 hours BUT
application server build takes about 16-18 hours. Basically, when
transferring pak files from deployment to application server, rdaspec.pak
(90 mb) takes about 3 hours and gbrspec.pak file(900 MB) takes about 10
hours. We have both servers on same switch (100 MB), network cards are
100mb/full duplex, any file transfers outside of ERP are fine. Problem is
only transferring rdaspec and gbrspec files to application server. We donot
have any virus scanning software on any machine. Anyone has any ideas?

Thanks!

recker5,
I can't find the documantation right now but there was a tweak to the ODBC settings under the performance tab where you set the record blocking from 32k to 512k.
I have no conclusive tests yet, just a thought.

Recker, when you say that file transfers are fine outside the ERP, I am assuming that you mean file transfers to the app server...right? Just for good measure, run a packet sniffer from the deployment server or check the port your deployment server is using on your switch to ensure the health of your DS's NIC, IP Stack, etc. Make sure you don't see an abundance of CRC errors, etc.

Just a thought. Good Luck.
