P4310, ER Validation error after ESU 4605023

Hi,
(this time B7332)
Our tech guys installed ESU# 4605023 (without merge).
When I open the updated P4310 with FDA and call ER Validation then I receive the error message that you can see on the end of this post.
I have found SAR#4313485 with a Paper Fix, so I can correct this BSFN call.
I am affraid very much that our ESU install wasn't totally succesful.
Please, if you installed the mentioned ESU too then try to open P4310 and Validate ER and let me know your notices.
Any other help with this isssue/ESU will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Zoltán

Zoltan,

I get those all the time under the following conditions - CNC has performed
a merge and I check the APPL out on my local machine. The ER specs in the
APPL no longer match the BSFN/DSTR specs on my local machine. So what I do
is .... check out the offending DSTR and BSFN and recompile on my local
machine (sometimes research is required to figure out which BSFN it is).
Make sure to checkout all the DSTRs associated with the BSFN. Also, be
aware that sometimes there are additional BSFNs in the BSFN you just checked
out and have to go through multiple iterations of checking out (3 tries is
the most I have had to do). Once the ER validates successfully I only check
in the APPL.

Re: RE: P4310, ER Validation error after ESU 4605023

Ben,
Happy New Year!
Thanks your answer.
Previously I have tried to check out only the DSTR.
Now, I have tried your method, checking out the BSFN too and rebuild (there was only 1 in the source modul).
:-(( It didn't work for me. I Checked Out the APPL again but the error remained.
I am affraid that this type of error can occure in many application but I won't know about them because I won't open all application with FDA.
In this single case, I know (suppose, I know) how can I correct this error, how fill the parameter list of the affected BSFN, but what will be in the other case if other cases exist? Currently I am totally helpless.

What was your experiences, could this symptom cause error running the APPL before you have done your correction process?

I have had a similar problem with the October Prerequisite ESU. For P0411 I
was getting similar messages. I was told to just double click on the
offending BSFN calls. I still had a problem so I had to regenerate a
processing option template. This seemed to fix all of the problems.

I hope this helps.

Bill,
At first, thanks for your answer and Happy New Year!

I checked P0411 and the validation was successful on it.

In the affected BSFN call (in P4310) all parameters and the movement arrows are UNDEFINED (not assigned). If I open this call (double-click) I can not hit OK because the first parameter is required.

Would you be so kind as to describe me, what do you mean: "regenerate a processing option template"?

Thanks in advance,
Zoltán

Hi,
Could it be true that just only we installed ESU# 4605023, so nobody can spend some minutes checking out P4310 and running Validate ER and let me know that does it fails or doesn't on their site?

Please, be so kind as to do it if you installed ESU# 4605023.
I will appreciate your answer very much.

Hi Zoltan.

I don't know which ESU we have installed so far, but the ER validation
completed with warnings:
/* CER WARNING #2005: Datastructure parameter count mismatch. . .
See error Log:
C:\B7\CRPB733\log\p4310.log

It was not a fatal error, but just a warning. JDE informed us that it was
due to a changed business function.
Using the log, we simply "remapped" the related Menu/Toolbar Exits, and
then ER validation was clean.

Hope this is of some help.

Sorry, I tried to check it out and apparently we don't have the license to
run the application...although I thought even if you did not have the
license for the module, you could at least check it out from the OL..
As for problems with the ESU, I cannot tell you definitively, but it was
either ESU 4605023, or SP13.3, but we have had one annoying problem occur.
The problem is with R09801/ZJDE0007 (cash receipt post). The problem is that
you receive an memory error with business function receiptpost
(B03b0067)...I have looked in the KG for a fix, and have seen a problem
similar that is supposed to be fixed with the above ESU, but nothing noted
that this problem occurred because of application of the esu.
Can you still run R09801/ZJDE0007 since your ESU installation? Again, sorry
about the P4310. (we are only running financials).

Hi Joseph,
Thanks your answer. Of course, any bit of information, experiences could be some of help.
What did you mean "simply "remapped" the related Menu/Toolbar Exits"?
Did you mean reassign parameter values in the BSFN call or something other?

Unfortunately our message is not a warning but an error:
/* CER ERROR #3003 : Unable to assign to data structure */
and our parameters and value movement arrows are undefined in the BSFN call.
How did you figure out which value to pass and with wich direction in the affected BSFN call in your situation?

In my case, there is an SAR in a comment line above the call. I went to the KG and the SAR refers to the mentioned ESU as it is corrected in it but it designates a parent SAR too. The parent SAR has a Paper Fix documentation in which I could find how to pass the parameters to the BSFBN call.

My main fear is not only the P4310.
I am affraid very much that not only P4310 affected and I haven't time to check out + open with FDA/RDA + run validation for all affected objects in the ESU. It is a risk to go to live with this ESU for us.

I am very curious that is anybody out there who have already installed ESU# 4605023 successfully.

John,
At first, thanks for your answer.
I have full rights on the system where our problem occured.

About your R09801/ZJDE0007 problem.
We are currently on SP11 and not on SP13.3.
I don't know this application, so I can not try it for you. Further, me and the others are very-very busy here, so I can not ask somebody to try for you. If we will have a little bit time, I will do. Excuse me that I couldn't currently help you.

Your issue appears for me that it is an SP13.3 related issue (we are on SP11).
Try to go to the OneWorld / XE forum too. You will find more threads related to SP13.3 and memory violations.
Please, let me/us to know if you could identify and/or correct your problem.

Good luck,
Zoltán

Hi Zoltan.
Yes, I meant that we "reassigned the parameter values".
>From Form Interconnections we clicked on the direction arrows,
and then clicked the OK button. It was an easy matter for us.
It sounds like you have a different problem.
Good luck.

Hi List / Forum,

At first, thanks for all your help and suggestion.
I have got a response from Response Line with an SAR and I have sent back some further questions.
I suppose, it could be useful for others of us, so without further explanation I will copy them here for you. Of course, with necessary discretion / truncations.
If I will get the further answers then I will put also here.
Zoltan
================ From the Response Line ============================
Hello Zoltan,
I did some research on the ER validation issue and found SAR #4797328.

Code was added in P4310 with a call to BSFN B0000580 to convert a string to
MathNumeric. This function is now
failing on ER validation. This SAR is in programming status and will likely
result in a paper fix to apply to P4310.

If this issue is of great importance and you are familiar with our
Development Tool, then you could use BSFN B4000770 to replace B0000580.
Otherwise reference the above SAR on our KG2 website to track the status.
Let me know if there is anything else that I can do.
================ Back to the Response Line from me ===================
Thanks again for your response.
I have some further questions, hopefully the lasts.

1.) The B0000580 BSFN was in programming status or the ER part of P4310 was (Price History Row Exit, Button Clicked)?
2.) In the first case I am affraid very much that it could cause several problems in other APPL and UBE because this BSFN is a very widely used one. Could you confirm in this case that it can not cause problems otherwhere?
3.) In the second case why to use an other BSFN? If I assign the parameters to this BSFN then the validation error don't come up again.
I have to tell that the SAR suggest B0000480 BSFN for substitution but it doesn't exists on our B7332 after the installed pre-req ESUs. (Your suggestion is exists).

Above the mentioned BSFN call there is an SAR number 4317304 in a comment line.
I have found it on the KG, and was reported as corrected in the mentioned ESU, and it is listed under that ESU too.
There is designated an other SAR 4313485 as Parent SAR.
This SAR has a Code Change Document which contains the affected Event Rule part, so I was able to figure out how to pass parameters and in which directions (it wasn't too hard). It seems that it is correct because this event rule part begins with an other BSFN call which is an opposit conversion (Numeric to String) with the same two variable. I made these changes and the validation was succesful using the B0000580 BSFN.

4.) Finally, can you confirm that can I use the method above with B0000580?
======================== THE END ===============================
