P4210 - pick date tie to Supply and Demand

In Sales Order Entry detail there is a scheduled pick date for the item/line. In the detail description of this field, PDDJ, it mentions the S&D program (P4021) used thisa date to calculate available to promise info. Thus:

Question #1 - Is there a way to make this date in the order to automatically revert to a day earlier. Say the requested date is August 31, but we want the pick date to be August 30.

OR

Question #2 - Can the S&D program be set to figured this out. I can not seem to find the trigger in the values.

Confusing? Absolutely, especially to our manufacturing people who need to have a visual date to plan ahead. At this moment our sales people and manually changing the pick date on all sales order detail lines.

Have you looked at the Order Prep Days preference? It seems to me that if
you set that to 1 it should back off the scheduled pick date by 1 day.

It's with all the other preferences on one of the Sales Order menus.
