Hi All

We recently upgrade from Xe to 8.10 and in the process lost the ability to graphically compare Capacity and Load in P3113 Capacity review.

This was one of the features that was used to sell the product to us originally, and is important for us.

Has anyone found a way to restore this functionality?

JDE have stated that the changed code is 'functioning as designed' - see below - and will not be changed back.

Oracle Response:

There is a SAR 7022051 which is of status 09-Closed-No further Action
describes that in 8.10 release, there is a change of using StringRay grid to
draw graphs instead of FarPoint Grid used in XE. This is as per design of the
software. The grid needs to contain numeric type column in order to create
graphs. Please see sar details below.

The reason for the Graphical format rejection is the manner in which the
applications have been built from data dictionary.

The fields containing the data are based on TQ01 thru to TQ10 which are all
defined as string as opposed to numeric format. This is to allow alphas to
appear in the variable formatting of the buckets including the date at the top
of the grid display.

Therefore whilst you could export cells to Excel - you will not be able to
perform the grid manipulation you desire.
You can export the grid to Excel and create the graph from Excel instead of
EnterpriseOne.

Description A ORIGINAL REQUEST

PROGRAM NAME/NUMBER:
Review Work Center Load - P3313
.
ENVIRONMENT / SERVER /PACKAGE:
EnterpriseOne 8.9
.
DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM:
In P3313, when selecting data, unable to create a graphical
format. Receive error message: "no numeric data selected".
This was working correctly in Xe but seems to be broken in
8.9. See attachments on world server.
.
DESIRED OUTCOME:
Create a graphical format in P3313
.

B FINAL DISPOSITION

Windows RT - No Graph Format in P3313
As EnterpriseOne 8.9,8.10 and later version, uses StringRay
Grid, where StringRay grid is limited to draw graph with
only Numeric columns, this enforces Runtime engine not
to allow any other columns types other than Numeric
.
Whereas Xe uses FarPoint Grid, which allows to draw Graph
with any column datatype
.
Hence this is not an issue, please change the application
accordingly.

* INTERNAL DOCUMENTATION

Please refer to the client's attachment that shows the
graphs for the same form in XE and the error in B9. I
have
the
problem duplicated. Please contact me with any help regardin
g setup of data. The form shows numeric values as String
columns and the grid is Left to Right instead of TopDown.
In 89, we are unable to get the Graph for non numeric
data.
Looks like it is by design as the screen does say that
non
numeric data not supported(if so please provide the client
with the explanation in the B section). Within Manufacturing
there are a number of forms that have grids with numeric
data displayed in string fields.
Changing the SAR to H92 group at status 11.
