OW and Excel exporting - Security issue...

Hi all,

Am wondering if any of you could help me on this?

We need to put excel out for people. We'd like it to only be available by
the Form so they could only download the data in that form? Has anyone
found a way to do this? JDE says it's not possible.

Or:

Is there an internal file that tracks or controls exports that a report
could be run against?

Is there any way to journal the files or anything on the AS400 that could
tell if a file was exported?

Any ideas?

I'm kind of grasping here but am hoping someone has the straw I need.

No Lori, I don't know of any way to turn off grid Exporting. I just wasn't sure that was what you were asking.

Lori,
I don't know if this will work for you or not. The best you could hope for
would be to secure the users out of the export assistant. This would
prevent them from being able to select a range for export/cut to their local
clip board. This will, however, prevent all grid export of data. You may
need to secure out the export to Word as well. The two prompt windows look
different so it may separate programs. I don't know the program name/s,
maybe another jdelister can help with that.
