Outbound 855 EDI Transaction

We are in the process of implementing outbound 855s with 3M, and the problem we are running into is in the PO1 and ACK fields in the EDI. We need to find a way to have JDE be able to tell that a qty or price or UoM etc has been changed, and then as a result produce something that can be transferred to the outbound 855 which will accomodate the changes. For example, if we make a price change, the ACK needs to have an IP code, and if we make multiple changes, it needs to have an IC, etc. We thought about making use of fields which were not currently being used (in the F47026/27) to store the original data from the 850, but we wonder if there is a better method for doing this. Any help/direction would be appreciated.
