HI GUYS,,

I have a small question..

I created a table in oneworld. I am using this table as a work Table in
OneWorld. I am using this table in different applications.

now I would like to add some other fields to that table . Is that safe to
do??

Thanks in Advance

owxe,
Knowing that your table is just a work table, you won't have a problem in generating it thus "loosing" all its data.
However, you are modifying its structure, and that means that you'd better re-generate the business views (if any) and most important, revalidate your ER statements (by double-clicking them, re-populating them and OK-ing them)!
There is a little detail missing from your question: are you going to need the new fields in ALL your different applications?
If not, you may want to copy your table and expand the new one; in this case, ignore all the above talking, please.
Take care,
Adrian Chimirel

Every change you make to any table structure will cause all your data within
that table goes away....

There is no problem with that. The only issue is that you will lose your actual data in this table.

Hi OWXE,
There is no poblem if you append the know items to the end of the table.
You mentioned that this table is a work table. If it means that you populate this table with records for a limited processing time and you do not want to store data in it for longer time, then you can simply generate the table with the new specification because in this case it isn't a problem that you will lose your records in the table.
If you want to preserve data in your table then you have to use Table Conversions but this is an other story.
