Dear List
We're currently running World A7.3.10 and are looking into upgrading to
OneWorld Xe. We have about 35 users with access to the system, but very
rarely go over 10/15 concurrently. We use Financials and Purchase Management
in the Distribution suite. We're currently on a 720 machine.

So far we've been advised to use the As400 to house the data, but use logic
servers for the processing as the As400 is not well suited to Oneworld.
Anyone have any views to back up the claims?

Additionally we're in the media sector and as such have users accessing JDE
via Mac's - I've been told that Mac's cannot be set up as THICK/FAT clients,
we'd need to use CITRIX which is not a stable link. Again any ideas ???

Thanks list in advance.
Charlotte

Charlotte,

OW uses Windows APIs for it's fat client, so I could understand why it won't work on a Mac. However, I'm wondering why you think Citrix is unstable (or 'not a stable link')? We've been using Citrix for quite a while now and think it's great. We do occassionally have some times when the response seems to lag, but we believe a little 'farm tuning' should help with that. We use our Citrix boxes for all sorts of additional applications besides OneWorld. Dave (got-to-love-jde) can vouch for Citrix in his OW implementation. Do a search for some of his comments on Citrix/WTS.

Regards,

Doug
