One More Web CLient ?

Ok, so I am getting information together on the web/html client. One other
thing that I am unclear of. How do you deploy objects to web clients. Do you
build the update/full package and then 'serialize' the object and then
deploy it to the web server? How long do deployment's take? Does anyone have
a document# from JDE that describes the process? I have been looking on the
KG, and only found 'Installing Websphere 3.5'..

John -

I have a fat client also installed on my JAS server and deploy packages to it. After taking the package the modified objects need to be generated. After the generation WebSphere needs to be bounced for the users to see the modifications.

A way around bouncing the services may be to switch off the caching feature,
which will also allow you to use multiple pathcodes on the same jas box
without cross Pathcode caching. The obvious downside is performance is
impacted.
