OFFICE VISION 400

Does anyone have or know of any new solutions that are resonable in price
to do documents that will interface with JDE? Since AS400 Office Vision is
being phased out. I would like some input from others and what directions
they are going in. These are doc's that come from the old legacey 36
system Dream Writer, and belive it or not we are just getting ready to move
off the System 36 (5360) at long last. I know Domino is the most popular
but surely it is not the only way to go. Any thoughts would be
appreciated.

Thanks,

We are thinking about formscape - supposed to be a JDE partner or
something. If you need details I can setup you up with someone in the know
here. I can be reached at 330-899-8026.

I am also looking for other solutions out there. What is Domino? Can you supply me with their information and any other information you have learned since posting your note? Thanks so much.

Domino is a Lotus Notes application. Since Lotus is now a part of IBM, anyone using Office Vision is encouraged to use Lotus Notes.
Here are a few of the 'replacement applications' I have found.
WordSmart, by JDP Consulting
Document Integrator, by Seacrtest
Intelligent Text Processing, by AIA/ITP
Wordsmart and ITP use MS Word, Document Integrator is strickly AS/400 green screen world.
If you need more info on these here is my email address
jkrempel@columbianational.com
I will be more the happy to help you out. phone number is 410-872-2527 I work for a mortgage company in Maryland.

we have setup mailmerge from microsoft word to the as/400. Using ms query in the background. You use the query to select the records and the mail merge loads them into the word document. The query can join multiple file and print multiple records.
